About
Zara Fina Stasi is an artist and author based in Richmond, VA. Inspired by the natural world and our place in it, her work explores themes of family, change, and nostalgia. Across her murals, collages, illustrations, visual capture, and paintings you’ll find organic forms, playful colors, and expressive line work. Her work has been profiled in The Wall Street Journal and U.S. News & World Report.
She has been commissioned by the NYC Department of Transportation for public murals and has collaborated with Anthropologie, Terrain, and Madewell on collections. She has worked in Mexico City, Shanghai, London, Hong Kong, Rome, Beijing, Amsterdam, Bogota, and throughout the US. Zara has consulted for Columbia University’s Digital Storytelling Lab and for William and Mary’s Entrepreneurship Center. She is a national Madewell Hometown Hero and a Nest Guild member.
Zara graduated Magna Cum Laude from William and Mary with a Bachelor of Arts in both Art and History. She is passionate about our planet, empowering others, and being nice. Find her gardening, at the beach, or biking around her new city after ten years in New York. Zara is working on her first picture book and is represented by Stephanie Fretwell-Hill at Red Fox Literary.
Where does ‘Good for the Bees’ come from?
Zara founded Good for the Bees in 2019 in New York City. Weaving her experience in art and strategy together, she founded the studio to help people thrive through art. She chose the name from an old Roman quote that roughly translates to “That which is not good for the hive, is not good for the bees,” Zara wanted to build a studio that was both good for the individual and the collective- the hive and the bees. This quote popped up when she started to think about leaving the corporate world to build this studio and it continues to help her decide on the types of projects she takes on.

Collaborations
Good for the Bees collaborated with Terrain (Anthropologie’s lovely garden brand!) to launch an eight-product collection, inspired by botanical lines, fresh citrus, and a love of nature.
Good for the Bees collaborated with Anthropologie UK to create this (sold out!) Tropical Monogramed Tote.
Good for the Bees represented NYC as one of nine makers from across the U.S. picked for Madewell’s Hometown Heroes Collective. The print collection had multiple best sellers that sold out (like this New York Green Spaces Map Print!).
